Bitcoin (BTC)
- Logo: released into the public domain on the Bitcointalk forum on 1 November 2010 by the pseudonymous user “Bitboy”, with explicit public-domain dedication. There is no central rights-holder for Bitcoin. Attempts to register “Bitcoin” as a trademark have been refused or annulled in multiple jurisdictions; in 2024, Commercial Court No. 2 of Bilbao (Spain) annulled the Spanish figurative trademark No. 4,046,141 in the BITCOINFORME / Bit2Me litigation, confirming the logo’s public-domain status under Spanish law.
